Hopefully 5 minutes of peace
May. 2nd, 2007 01:58 pm... and instead of ironing I will use them to update my journal.
Basically things are going well. The house looks less like a construction site everyday; I have learned to ignore the neighbours' comments on the looks of our garden; Francesco is more content with his job now and doesn't mind the 1 hour drive so much anymore.
Lea is walking, talking, climbing, running, singing, .... sometimes she even sleeps. *g* She says things in Itlian now as well, which makes her dad proud to burst. Since I had to work yesterday it was "Father-Daughter-Day" which they spent at the local zoo and apparently had loads of fun.
My birthday party went well. The weather was incredible, most of the people I had been hoping to see actually came (big wave and hug towards Berlin), eight kids had the time of their life in my uncle's garden and we grown-ups (or those that are taller than 1,20) took the opportunity to sit and chat in peace.
The only minor trouble at the moment is the fact that I probably lost a teaching job, because my mum is really unflexible at the moment and couldn't bring herself to start taking care of Lea (once a week for three hours!) before her holiday. That means the guy would have to keep the position open for me until the end of the month, something that is not likely to happen. So I guess I'll keep working weekends. *shrug*
Wish you guys a wonderful rest of the week and a slightly late birthday hus to
