Quiet morning
Dec. 18th, 2003 10:52 amMy free day. Yeay!
Then why the heck did I get up at 7?
I’m one of those unfortunate people who, once ripped out of their wonderful dreams, can’t find their way back to slumber again. Hence the apartment is cleaned, I wrapped a couple of presents and started complaining about the owner of our apartment being late for an appointment – until I realized that it was just 10:30 and he was not due for another hour.
So I started writing some long overdue Emails – family, friends, reports, class preparations. And finally updating my journal. Yep. That was my intention. And even though I’m doing it right now I find myself short of things to tell you. I have been really busy, but the work stuff would surely bore you to death (and I don’t want to take that on my conscience, this short before Christmas) and the friends’ stuff is largely connected to Christmas presents for certain people who might be reading this entry – besides, that would be boring for you as well. *grin*
Ah, wait, strike of lighting – the company Christmas party! Yes, that was something nice. Me and
nelladarren had a lot of fun listening to all the long-term employees padding each other on the shoulder – verbally – and congratulating each other and thanking each other for the good work. Then we had some really lovely dinner (the company DID spent money on the buffet) before we disappeared into the downstairs rooms to sing some Christmas songs. Went rather well, I must say. So well that they dragged us upstairs to sing for the whole lot. Which went less well, but was fun anyway.
By the way, anyone in the area who wants to join us tomorrow evening for watching "Return of the King"?
