The owners are here. Both of them. But no plumber in sight.
When I asked them, very politely, when that highly important person would show up, she told me:
"Well, you see, I thought I'd bring my husband first, so that he can have a look. We'll call the plumber right afterwards, but he is extremely good, so he might be busy."
EXCUSE ME?!
Why the f*** did I take the day off, if nobody is going to do anything about MY problem anyway?
And how can a retired butcher expect to be able to find the course of the problem at first sight, when an expertised plumber couldn't do it after almost an hour of intensive search?
I can hear him knocking against walls upstairs in a most unhelpful way. The owner, I mean. Wish I could help him with that, only I wouldn't use my knuckles but his head and the resulting sounds would surely be louder. Not more effective, though.
Will go out again and pester them until they finally call the plumber.

Hey, at least it did happen now and not after you re-decorated the walls! I know... I'm just trying.

Date: 2004-04-01 12:30 am (UTC)From:down the hall?
who is sending noisy messages
down the passages?
It's the butcher with his knife
And his wife
And they knock their pattern through
Me and you.
What's the smell behind the stone?
Rotten bone?
What's the moist and rosy mud,
is it blood?
It's the butcher with his saw
He will gnaw
Meat and bone from one and all
'yond that wall
What's the throbbing that I hear
Oh so near?
Is he coming for me now
Fast or slow?
And the mire that's my wall
Turns to gall
Grants and entry to my life
For the butcher
And his bloody wife.

So I think that it is fair to pay more.
